Early Childhood Education Management Services (ECEMS) is a private For Profit Corporation dedicated to supporting the intellectual and personal growth of children through high quality preschool programs. A fundamental goal for each preschool is to provide a nurturing environment that supports a positive self-image for each child and enables a child to approach challenges with courage, resourcefulness, and confidence.
We accomplish this goal by providing a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children. While visiting our preschools you will see positive and warm interactions between children and adults; well-planned learning activities that encourage children to explore, question, and expand their understanding; a variety of materials found within the block writing, dramatic play, science and literacy centers as well as the art easel and tactile table that invite children to play and learn; enough adults to respond to individual children; safe and healthy outdoor play environments; and nutritious lunches.
While working as the director of Marylhurst Early Childhood Center (MECC) in 2008, Cheryl was approached by the director of the Clackamas County Head Start Pre-Kindergarten Program and asked to consider operating a program that would serve families that qualified for Head Start enrollment. Although MECC was not interested in this venture, Cheryl was. So, in the fall of 2008 Cheryl formed Early Childhood Education Management Services (ECEMS) and opened Logus Road Preschool to great success. The relationship between ECEMS and OHSPP continued to develop and grow. The following year, 2009, ECEMS opened Oak Hills Preschool and Oregon Trail Preschool in 2016.
Cheryl Forsberg has worked in the field of early childhood for over 30 years. She has a bachelors of science degree in education with an endorsement in early childhood. She has worked as a preschool teacher in a variety of programs and has been a director of several early childhood programs.
